NCMAS 2023
The National Computational Merit Allocation Scheme is Australia’s premiere grant scheme for access to high-performance computing (HPC) resources. The two Tier-1 HPC facilities in Australia, the National Computational Infrastructure (NCI) and the Pawsey Supercomputing Research Centre, together offer hundreds of millions of hours of computing time to meritorious researchers.

Anonymisation
In 2021 and 2022, the Office of the Women in STEM Ambassador at UNSW conducted a National Trial of Anonymising Research Funding Proposals, in collaboration with Australian research organisations. The aim was to assess whether the anonymised review of proposals reduces unconscious bias in STEM grant programs.
The Office of the Women in STEM Ambassador is currently assessing data for the anonymisation trial from NCMAS 2021 and 2022. The NCMAS 2023 call for applications will use the same proposal anonymisation protocol used in the NCMAS 2021 and 2022 calls.
Applications found to blatantly disregard the anonymising guidelines, or to clearly reveal the identities of the applicants, will be considered noncompliant, and be withdrawn from further consideration.
Online Information Sessions
Online information sessions are available every Tuesday at 2pm AEST from the 9th of August to the 27th of September. These are an important opportunity to find out eligibility details, specific recommendations for NCMAS2023, and ask any questions you may have.

Online Information Course
Content from the Information Sessions, and video explainers about Anonymisation and Code Scalability are available through an online information course. The online course contains valuable detail about the NCMAS2023 Call for Applications, how to succesfully handle the anonymisation requirements, and how to complete the code scalability components of the application process.
